OVERCOMING VACANCY CONTENT CHALLENGES
One of the biggest challenges Steve and his team were facing was inconsistent vacancy content. "Multiple managers would create the same vacancy advert, leading to inconsistencies that made it difficult to assess candidates."

Steve shared that the initial fear was because AI is different. Hiring managers were concerned it would create extra work for them.
He and his team explained to managers that "AI isn’t to be feared, it’s to be embraced." Once they broke that initial ‘I don’t like it because…’ and showed them the work they've been doing around introducing AI into their processes , they became advocates very quickly.

To overcome challenges around evolving regulations and compliance barriers, Steve and his team worked closely with their governance and HR teams to ensure processes are fair and transparent.
Steve explains that "you've got to have the right reassurances in place, e.g., privacy policies, and a charter that states how you’re going to use AI and that you’re going to be fair with it. You need to implement compliance steps to ensure humans are still at the centre of things, making those final decisions."

Searching for the unicorn is the way Steve and his team have historically worked, but since implementing VacancyIQ, they now focus more on skills and behaviours.
They're using the tool to make questions more value-based, and "by focussing on skills and using language in vacancy adverts that manages people's expectations, they're getting better candidates through."
